🤑 Get Your Books in Order. Unless you're an accountant or tax wiz, hire someone to strategize, advise, and manage your books from the beginning. As a business owner, you need to be smart about using the tax code to your advantage. Hello S Corp!
🧑🏿🤝🧑🏽 Know Your Niche. Getting crystal clear about who we serve (and who we don't) has been a game changer. You can't be everything to everyone. Momentum always precedes clarity. Our sweet spot are small businesses and nonprofits.
🤝 Clarify Expectations. As we say in Spanish, "Cuentas claras, amistades duraderas" (Clear accounts = BFF 4 Ever). Don't assume anything and OVER communicate. Spell things out and get your client's buy-in. As our relationship expert Brene Brown says, "Disappointments are unmet expectations."
PRO TIP: Making our mental health a priority. We used to stay up 'til midnight, now we choose to rest and wake up earlier to tackle our to do list. This also means sometimes saying no to new projects to make room for the right stuff.
